When to choose ASA for your part.

ASA is ABS with UV resistance. Mechanically it's a near-identical thermoplastic — similar tensile strength, similar heat deflection, similar printing requirements — but instead of yellowing and becoming brittle under sunlight, ASA holds its colour and strength for years outdoors. If you need a 3D-printed part that lives outside, ASA is the right choice.

Typical Gurgaon use cases: automotive aftermarket exterior parts (mirror mounts, trim pieces, grille inserts), outdoor electrical enclosures for telecom and solar equipment, garden tool handles and brackets, signage and permanent displays, and drone / RC aircraft bodies that sit in the sun between flights. We've also printed parts for rooftop HVAC installations where weather resistance is non-negotiable.

Because ASA warps like ABS, we print it only on our enclosed FDM printers with active chamber heating. This ensures parts come out dimensionally accurate without cracks between layers. Expect the same finish quality as ABS — glossy and paintable, with the option to acetone-smooth for a fully professional look.

Frequently asked questions

Mechanical properties are nearly identical — strength, heat resistance, impact. The difference is UV stability: ABS yellows and cracks after months outdoors, ASA holds its colour and integrity for years. If your part sees sunlight, choose ASA.
