When to choose PLA for your part.
PLA is the default starting point for almost every FDM 3D printing project. It's cheap to print, dimensionally stable, and looks excellent without any post-processing. For Gurgaon customers coming to Fabrilox for the first time, PLA is almost always what we recommend for display models, architectural samples, initial prototypes, cosplay props, and educational projects.
The main limitation of PLA is heat. It starts to soften at around 55-60°C, which means a part left in a parked car in May or June will deform. It's also brittle — if your part takes sudden shock or vibration, PETG or ABS will survive much longer. Use PLA for looks and geometry checks; use PETG or ABS for function.
